Guillain-Barré syndrome

 






Clinical pearls

1.  The diagnosis of GBS is confirmed by nerve conduction studies
2.  Treatment consists of intravenous immune globulin (0.4g/kg/day x 5 days)
3.  Side effects of immune globulin include acute renal failure and aseptic meningitis
